The Marriage of Sarah Edwards & Kevin Cross
Married at: St Mary’s Church Arnold. Nottingham with the wedding breakfast and Reception was at Bestwood Lodge
Sarah Wore: Sarah’s wedding dress was hand made by an Italian designer named Rosetta Nicolini called Salomi. This is a fitted dress with detailed design across the front. This is an excellent vintage style wedding dress, purchased from Berketex Bride Nottingham.
Sarah’s Hair: Sarah had her hair and makeup designed at my local hairdressers. She had her hair pinned to one side and curled. She went for soft make up and kept re-applying my lip gloss thoughtout the day and her make up was freshened up for the evening reception. Sarah accessorizedwith a tiara and a selection of jewels and pearls to complement my late grandma’s pearl necklace which was handed down from my mum to me for my wedding.
Kevin Wore: Kevin wore a ¾ length suit with designer waist coat and cravat. The waist coat had light green swirls with a silver back and the cravat was in pistachio green to match the bridesmaids and page boy. The silver back matched Sarah’s wedding dress which looks good for the first dance. We hired these suits from Formal Affair for Kevin, Sarah’s father, brother, Kevin’s father, Best man and page boy.
The Bridesmaids & Page Boy: There were five bridesmaids who were made up of two adults and three children. However due to one of the children being a very tall 11 years old, she fitted in an adults dress much better. The dresses were a pistachio green with matching shawls from Berketex. Samuel was our page boy in matching suit from Formal Affairs.
Rings: Both Sarah & Kavins rings came from smooch online who came round to our house to allow them to choose through many ring at their leisure. Sarah has a vintage style ring and Kevin has gone for the classic men’s ring. Both rings are engraved with “I Love you” and are in 18ct white gold which matches the engagement ring.
Transport: We had two vintage cars from Belmoral Wedding Cars which looked excellent on the photos and helped take all the bridesmaids to the church on time as well as bring the bride and father of bride to the church in style.
Photographer: Their photographer was Karl from ilife photgraphy who has won many awards this year for his fashion and portrait work. We had a pre-shoot before the wedding at Newstead Abbey to help us feel comfortable in front of the camera along with many photo tips to look good. This really helped! Kevin’s father did the videography on the day. We purchased a high definition camcorder with an internal hard drive to allow full recording of the whole day. This had the added benefit of being able to take this with us on our honeymoon in Maldives.
Flowers by: The flowers were by Design by Tomkins in Carlton, Nottingham. Sarah had a trailing bouquet with the bridesmaids having a hand tide bouquet. Both of our mothers had a corsages and traditional button holes for the guys which the grooms being slightly bigger.
Cake by: Sarah & Kevin had a white five tier cake with trailing orchids and silver and green ribbons. We had each layer as a sponge cake with different flavours. This was made by Kates Kreative Cakes.
Venue Decoration: Chair Covers by Nobility in crisp ivory cotton to match the venues ivory table linen. Sarah and Kevin had Two Tone Forest green sashes for their guests and Organza moss embroidered sashes for their chairs. The top table was dressed with a matching forest green swag.
The balloons were by ‘special4you‘ with two mirror images which was on either side of the main door leading into the ballroom and several cloud nine balloons floating around the ballroom. They had six white artificial rose tree’s which they decorated ourselves with white organza bows. They manage to get these tree’s by bulk from JTF. We also made our own favours using a box template and purchasing two big bags of heart shaped chocolates with silver and gold foil round them. They printed their own names on each individual box. Additionally to this, they also purchase some heart mints to leave on the bar for both the day and night.
Colour Scheme/ Styling Theme: Sarah knew what style she wanted straight away. Because it was a spring wedding she wanted a spring green colour which we chose pistachio green which everyone complimented on being an ideal colour with creams and whites to set this off nicely.
Stationery by: The invitations covers were from cherish moments and we made the inserts ourselves. The Order of Service, place names, table names and seating board we made.
Entertainment: We had Paul Hollis playing a saxophone while our photos were being taken at Bestwood Lodge and also through the wedding breakfast. For the evening had a swing/jazz singer named Adam Thomas. He also did a disco between his sets which kept the night going well.
Extra special/ individual bits: Sarah & Kevin stayed at Bestwood Lodge on our wedding night, we also had rooms reserved for family and friends. One thing which we found help tremendously was to use a PC software named Perfect Table Plan. This helped us organise table plans, seating arrangements, food choices, contact details along with easy printouts of these which can be given out where required. We created a website which our friends and family can use to find out any info of the wedding they may require plus leave comments and well wishes. www.sarahandkev.co.uk
