Colour advise for your chair cover sashes

    Posted by No Comments

At Nobility Chair Covers we believe in making your day extra special. We are happy to give colour advise about your sashes and about colour combinations. More often than not weddings are themed around 1 or 2 colours, ie black & white, pink & brown… (sometimes it can be 3 colours or more) and I am happy to advise customers which combinations can work best, or which colour to focus on.

For example a red and gold colour theme may focus the flowers on red and therefore the obvious sash colour choice would be gold if you wish to have an equal colour balance. Of course this is not always the case and you may wish to have a ‘pop’ colour against a very neutral palette where a tiny amount of colour is introduced, but that colour could be very strong and an eye-catching colour – this can often be the case when customers really adore hot pink but don’t want the colour to dominate the room decor. We are very experienced at working with different colour proportions and combinations to achieve the overall look you are hoping to achieve.  Often it is worth asking us if we have dressed your venue in the colour you are thinking of because its not always as easy to visualise how the room would look dressed in an orange colour scheme for example.

The most effective way of utilising colour in your room set up is through 3 elements, flowers, balloons and chair covers sashes. As always our sashes are made of the finest fabrics including delicate organza and voiles and more opaque fabrics such as satin. All the fabrics are hand picked by us to ensure the best quality available. All our sashes are finished with a discrete narrow hem. And not forgetting our original lace and gingham sashes too.

The following pictures all show the same venue, Risley Hall, dressed with various different colours and fabric types.

    Lights, camera…Chair Covers

    Posted by No Comments

We have been out and about this morning covering chairs for a local Best Western Hotel who are up dating their website and adding some high quality images to their site, hopefully entising a few extra couples to hold their wedding at this venue.  We were called upon to supply the chair covers for the photo shoot to ‘show the room off, looking its best’.  We also dressed the room with our matching table runners and crystal globe centrepieces too!! Images to follow.

    Chair Covers in Nottingham

    Posted by No Comments

Our covers have been tailor made to fit the various styles of banqueting chairs utilised at many venues. So just to confirm the many venues that we can cater for, here are a few examples of the venues close to home in Nottingham. Notice the difference in the shapes of these chair and how our covers have been made to fit that shape.

    Lakeside Tower

White cotton covers with our voile ‘tango’ sashes set for a civil ceremony. Plus embroidered sashes for the bride and grooms chairs. Round top covers for a round top chair.

    Woodborough Hall

Crisp white covers with organza wine sashes. These chairs have a flat top so……so do our chair covers giving you a perfect fit.

    Cockliffe Country House

Covers here are dressed on the ‘Cheltenham’ chair with lilac and forest green sashes. An example of a third shape of chair which we can cater for. In total we have 13 different styles of cover, some of which have been made to measure – giving my pattern cutting skills from college an airing!!! However we have to admit there is one style of chair we do not cater for, and that’s the folding chair.

We do not subscribe to one size fits all – that would never do.

Other venues we can cover are, Bestwood Lodge Hotel, Ruddington Grange Golf Club, Country Cottage, The Nottingham Gateway, Cotgrave Gold Club, Thrumpton Hall, Holme Pierrepont Hall, Colwick Hall, The Albert Hall, Rutland Square Hotel and many more.

    Best Dressed Chairs.

    Posted by No Comments

Cast your mind back 6 or 7 years when chair covers first made their appearence on the British Wedding scene. What were the options? White covers that were ill fitting? Gold or pink sashes as your only colour option? How things have moved on. Now chair covers have become a prerequisite for any well dressed wedding. With sashes in every rainbow colour and the covers themselves in every kind of fabric known to man. So here are a few tips to consider when choosing your chair covers.

    1. What style of chair does the venue supply. Most standard banqueting chairs are easily coverable – but do made sure the quality of the fit is perfect. If your venue has a chair more like a dining chair then the covers may need to be tailor made – a service offered by yours truely -as seen with these chairs.

    2. When considering the sashes, think about the fabric type and not just the colour. The most popular fabric choice is organza which has a delicate sparkle, however satin sashes can offer you more depth of colour for your chosen colour scheme, especially if you have selected a deep shade such as navy or aubergine.

    3. Consider if you wish to add any styling details.

    Election Day Special

    Posted by No Comments

I thought as tomorrow is obviously an important day it would be appropriate to comment on the Election. This had me struggling as to what to write!!! However a flash of inspiration came to me when I considered what would happen if you voted for the party represented by the sash colours chosen by our brides and grooms over the last 12 months. Therefore indepth Nobility Chair Cover analysis has been undertaken by my husband (he’s a numbers man!!) in counting the weddings of red, blue, yellow and green colour schemes.

From May 2009 – 2010 one colour dominated our chair cover bookings and if the results tomorrow night go the same way as our most popular colour, many of you will be surprised that Caroline Lucas of the Green party will be occupying Number 10.

Green, yellow, blue and red sashes

Sashes in accordance to our main political parties.  Green Party – Green Sash, Liberal Democrats – Yellow Sash, Conservatives – Blue Sash and Labour – Red Sash…….. but don’t let our chair covers sway your vote!!!

    Just a bit of fun!

Crystal Globes a go go!! Get your hands on our stunning crystal globes while you can. We knew when we introduced these gorgeous centrepieces to our product offering they would be a real winner, what we didn’t expect is just how quickly they would be snapped up. The globes make a dazzling alternative to floral centrepieces and set your room a light when the lights are lowered.  Standing 75cm tall and containing 340 crystals these are the ultimate finishing touch.

The globes can be added to our ‘sitting pretty package’ as they were in this example to include ivory chair covers, table runners, named favour boxes, table numbers and table petals. All coordinated in silver with ivory table linens.

One of the great things I love about the crystal globes is the fact they are so versatile no matter what your colour scheme is. This set up with our delicious shimmer satin wine sashes just proves that you can add  them to any room, with any colour and they still stand out as a dazzling attraction. Of course the chair covers look great too!

Chair Covers for your Civil Ceremony

    Posted by No Comments

This is always worth a mention:  something that crops up when booking your chair covers for a civil ceremony, don’t forget about the Registrars chair!! Often the registrar will have an attendant too so more often than not you need to add an extra couple of covers onto you order. Granted these wedding chair covers won’t be used for the wedding breakfast but it makes your ceremony room look complete when all the chairs are covered – not 2 lonely uncovered chairs at the front.

    The Personal Touch

    Posted by No Comments

It may sound like a bit of a cliche to say that all weddings are individual, but really they are. The more personality you can inject into your wedding day the better as far as I am concerned. Personal touches that are relevent to you always make great talking points at a wedding and the things that people will remember in years to come.

Our embroidered sashes always make great headlines at a wedding and we created this theme board just to show how you can add that extra special touch to your chair covers.

    Embroidered sashes for chair covers

Calligraphy and wording features so much in many other parts of your wedding from your table numbers,  invitations, favour boxes and cakes so why not follow that through into your venue decoration and have embroidery stitch for your sashes.

We can stitch any wording on your sashes (within a limited space!!) and some of the favourite we have been asked for in the past are:

    ‘From this day forward’

    ‘Forever & Always’

    ‘On our wedding day’

    Embroidered sashes

And the great thing is about these individually made sashes is that you can includes as many of your wedding party as you like. What a fabulous keepsake.

White chair covers? Ivory chair covers?

    Posted by No Comments

I just thought I’d pass on this reminder to bridal couples. It’s important to check what colour table linen your venue carries as standard. It’s only a minor detail but it will effect whether you have white chair covers or ivory chair  covers – unless of course you go for black.  Most venues carry white as standard and 80% of our business is for white chair covers, however please remember to check.

There is no right or wrong base colour for your table decorations and more often than not its down to personal preference. Examples are shown in these two images how different a room can look depending on the linen colour.
